Our sTory

My parents John and Claudia started farming asparagus in 1982.  With some of the extra asparagus at the end of the season, my mother would make some pickles for our family to enjoy. 

The pickles were such a hit that we started to share them with neighbours and extended family members.  These pickles were so delicious that the word quickly spread, and the amount of requests for my mother’s pickles began to grow.  Years have gone by and despite the increase in pickle production, my wife Joanne and I are committed to using the same traditional recipes and methods as my mother, Claudia did.  

Most of our pickles are made from vegetables grown our farm.  What we don't grow, we source from local, Canadian farmers.  Our vegetables are processed right away.  They are so fresh, you can taste the Sunshine! Many of our products are certified organic, with no chemical additives, preservatives, artificial flavors or colours.   

We create pickles that we are proud to share with our families, communities and fellow Canadian neighbours.  Come to the farm and taste the Sunshine difference.  Just like Nan used to make!
